Challenge
Project Support are an experienced consulting firm that provide independent strategic advice on project delivery, project costs, risk and asset valuations across the infrastructure and mining industries.
Headquartered in Brisbane, Project Support wanted to firmly establish a NSW presence and appoint a Regional Manager NSW to lead the charge in what were buyout market conditions.
The challenge for Talent Blueprint was to design a recruitment campaign that promoted the Project Support brand (who would not be widely known in this market) and to also effectively target and attract senior candidates from large multinational constructions firms who were ready to leave the security & take a leadership role in a SME regional expansion.
Solution
A recruitment campaign was proposed and costed upfront based entirely on the activity hours to be spent on the campaign along with the associated advertising costs. 45 hours of direct recruiter time was allocated for this project.
The recruitment campaign targeted high level candidates in the construction sector that traditionally start to hit mid to later career glass ceilings and become frustrated by the slow pace of change and burden of corporate politics.
While the use of established advertising options were used in a PR capacity it was the use of social media and direct search techniques of passive candidates that brought the true rewards.
Results
2 Rounds of interviewing took place with 4 high caliber candidates and a successful appointment was made within 3 weeks. By using a “hourly rate” recruitment model on this assignment they saved over 80% off a traditional recruitment fee which was literally tens of thousands of dollars.
